Alfa Romeo Nuova Giula Super 1300 - 1975

“Nuova Giulia Super”
He is the heir of the legendary Giulietta and for 15 years (from 1962 to 1977) he represented the icon of the Italian sports sedan par excellence. It is the absolute protagonist of the action and detective films of that time. There is no self-respecting pursuit unless there is a Giulia engaged in acrobatics of all kinds. It was one of the first Alfa Romeo designed in the wind tunnel and this gave it a sporty soul that already in 1965 made it the fastest sedan in its category with its almost 180 km / h. The slogan “Giulia, the car designed by the wind” was famous. For everyone, in the seventies, the Giulia Super was the fastest 1300 on the market. It transferred the technology from the racing TI Super to a road car, to make the most successful Giulia saloon. New dashboard with two large round instruments (speedo and tacho) and clock. Sportier steering wheel with three aluminium spokes and centre horn push, similar to that of the Ti Super, later changed for one with the horn pushes in the spokes. All-around disc brakes with servo were fitted as standard from the outset. The serpent crest of the Sforza family appears in a badge on the C-pillar and is a distinguishing feature of the Super saloon. For 1970, updates included dual-circuit brakes, centre-mounted handbrake lever to replace under-dash “umbrella handle”, larger external door handles, and top-hinged pedals (the latter in left hand drive models only; right hand drive continued with bottom-hinged pedals to the end of production).
Practical advice
It’s a fascinating saloon car, 4 seats comfortable, characterized by its iconic lines of 70’S by that capture every angle of its creative features.Accessibility is good and even driving at a fast speed is conforteble, wood and sky metirial for the interiror. Steering is not servo-assisted and requires a bit ‘of practice for successful maneuvering, especially when the vehicle is standing. The clutch pedal is operated with minimal pressure, the gear box is simple to use and requires just a little practice to understand its functional features.
Luggage advice
This car has a good load capacity within the rear trunk area. Above the spare wheel and safety/emergency equipment, there is enough space for four cabin trolley bags or even a hold luggage.
